Hello Ben fan!

I don’t really have a format worked out for this yet, so let’s just cut to the chase and list the dates when I’m doing my funny little “jokes” in public.

The ones marked with a * are the ones I most recommend attending. Either because I’ll be doing my best material, or I’ll be doing a longer spot than the usual 5 minutes, or I think the other acts will be good… If there isn’t a * then you might be in for seeing me try 5 minutes of new material and none of it will turn out to be funny. But I will still appreciate your support!

Sunday 29th August 7pm (tonight!!) - Ding Dong Gong Show

They just texted me and said they have spots, I’m not 100% sure I will even get on. This is a gong show which means the audience might (probably will) vote me off after 2 minutes.

Tickets from £5: https://www.designmynight.com/london/whats-on/comedy/ding-dong-gong-show

Vauxhall Comedy Club, 6 South Lambeth Place, London SW8 1SP

Monday 30th August 7pm - Groovie Grove Comedy, Hammersmith *

I’ll be doing 5-10 minutes (TBD). Pro tip: I’ll be at this same venue next Monday (6th September) as well.

Tickets £5 from: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/hammersmith-groovie-grove-comedy-mondays-tickets-154083352455

The Grove Bar & Restaurant, 83 Hammersmith Grove, London W6 0NQ

Thursday 2nd September 8pm - Colindale Comedy, Colindale *

I’ll be doing 5 minutes. Some funny acts in the line-up and the MC is great.

Free, no need to book - https://www.facebook.com/events/1422811438090304/

Chandos Arms, 31 Colindale Ave, London NW9 5DS

Sunday 5th September 6:30pm - Whole Lotta Comedy, Surbiton

Free, seats are first come first served. You get to see an actual professional comedian do a show before the open mic starts. NOTE: a lot further from Central London than usual. Venue is 15 minute walk from Surbiton station apparently.

The Castle, 108 King Charles Rd, Surbiton KT5 8QJ

That’s it for this week.

Extra bonus links:

Here is the set I did at Downstairs at the King’s Head in Crouch End on Thursday. If you’re planning to see me soon, maybe don’t watch it as you will probably see some (not all) of these jokes come up again. It’s up to you though, you’re an adult.

Video link was for email subscribers only, but you’re viewing the web version like a chump. Subscribe to the email newsletter to see future links and avoid missing out on any more premium Ben content.

Recommendations:

This American Irish Life podcast: https://thisamericanirishlifepodcast.podbean.com - a podcast by two married comedians with enjoyable banter.

The Suicide Squad (in cinemas) - the guy who made the Guardians of the Galaxy films and then was fired for a joke he tweeted 10 years ago has made a kind of sequel to/reboot of Suicide Squad (2016) bizarrely called “The Suicide Squad”; apparently it’s doing badly at the box office, but it’s really funny and violent with great use of Harley Quinn.

By the way, if you want to get in touch to book me for a bar mitzvah or whatever, you should just be able to reply to this email and I’ll get it.
